Catalog published by Ditlev Eltzholtz in 1905

Birgit Moeller visited the Royal Library in Copenhagen recently with her daughter Pernille and her grandson Lucas and they were able to view, and photograph some of the numerous catalogs and other publishings of Ditlev Eltzholtz. Ditlev sent out catalogues to his customers every year from 1865 - 1928 - 31. The Royal Library also had information regarding two books written by Ditlev; one about cultivations of tomatoes outdoors (1888), and one about sowing a grass field with a description of the most valuable clover and grass sorts (1885).
.
I asked Birgit to translate the catalog cover to English to make the reading a little easier for the American cousins including me. While I have been familiar with most of these words for some years the actual meaning of some came as a real surprize to me.
.
40. Aargang = volume. Ditlev started in 1865 so this would have been the 40th annual catalog.
.
Illustreret = Illustrated. I knew that one. The catalog contained drawings of the different objects.
.
Prisfortegneise = Price List - - - - - - - - fra = from.
.
Have & Markfroeforretning = Garden and Fieldseedbusiness. over = including.
.
Urte-,Blomster-,Conifera-, Palme-, Rodfrugtfroe og Graesfroeblandinger = Herbs,- Flowers,- Conifera (scientific name for coniferous tree family) - Palms, - Root crops seed and Grass seed mixings. samt = and.
.
Kloever og Graesfroe til Markbrug = Clover and Grass seed for the field.
.
Hvidtjoernsplanter m.m. = Hawthorn plants etc.
.
The picture of the two catalogs (1905 and the red cover to the right) indicates that they were professionally produced paper backed and from 1/4" to 3/16" thick. I would guess that the catalogs are at least 60 pages.
